5-Week Introduction Ceramics

A 5-week, hands-on journey into clay, where you’ll explore both handbuilding and wheel throwing while learning at your own pace. Each week introduces a new part of the process; from shaping and throwing to trimming, decorating and glazing—giving you the chance to experiment, make your own pieces and build confidence with clay in a relaxed, welcoming studio environment.

• Week 1: Introduction to clay & handbuilding basics
• Week 2: Handbuilding — developing forms and creating your own pieces
• Week 3: Introduction to wheel throwing — centring, opening and pulling
• Week 4: Trimming & decoration — refining your thrown pieces and exploring surface decoration
• Week 5: Glazing — choosing colours, applying glazes and adding the final finish
